hitting your screen. but maryland's gun law making it tighter for firearms. linda so is live in federal hill. what does the ad talk about and the melstage is trying to get across to those who didn't like the law in the first place? >> it is a 30 second tv ad that has a mother, bishop, and hunt to say why maryland's law will help reduce violence. here is part of the ad. >> something had to be done. here in maryland, we stood up. >> and joined the governor and the legislature to pass real solutions. >> that reduce gun violence, getting weapons out of the hans of criminals. >> reporter: the ad is sponsored by marylanders who prevent gun violence. last year governor o'malley signed the bill that stops assault weapons, magazines and requires people to submit figure prints to police if they want to buy handguns. now, gun supporters have started to collect signatures for a pudig. they need to collect more than 56,000 of them by the end of june. they have to collect at least 18,000 of them by the end of the month. they planned a big rally in philadelphia this saturday. one of the noted speakers
